Glass structures of the company Bischoff set global accents

District President visited company in Bretten

District Karlsruhe. The dome of the Reichstag in Berlin, the facade of the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, the roof of the British Museum in London or the base of the World Trade Centre One have all one thing in common – they all adorn individual glass facades of the company BGT Bischoff Glastechnik in Bretten. “Our business is the processing of flat glass. We deliver within Europe, North America and the Middle East glass elements specifically tailored to the customer’s requests, which are used in the façade as insulating or safety glass.

Amongst other things we produce glasses used as a substitute for steel girders. Combined with the ability to print on glass also, we offer our customers a comprehensive range of products which enables in fact to realize there architectural visions, commented CEO Heiko Probst the heart of the business of the company, which was visited last Friday by District President, Dr. Christoph Schnaudigel, together with Mayor, Mr. Willi Leonhardt.

“To 85% we operate in the construction sector. Renowned architects, general contractors and façade designers know the versatility of our products, which can be used functionally as sun protection or as thermal insulation and also allow the architect a great artistically scope, “says Heiko Probst. “The glass technology has evolved enormously over the past decades, especially in Europe. The design options are incredibly varied, as can be seen worldwide at stunning buildings. We are proud to do our part, “enthused Gerd Bischoff, who led the company as CEO for years

On 50,000 square meters production area about 250 employees cut the glass longitudinally and transversely to the required shape and size, they grind the edges and process it thermally further. From over 7,000 colour recipes, the glass can be additionally printed by screen printing method to set optical accents.
With help of the refined glasses from BGT Bischoff Glastechnik AG, building constructions arise, which attract worldwide attention.

“In the construction sector, we almost exclusively manufacture unique, due to the special requirements for size, layout and printing. However, for the industry sector, we can produce complete series, for example, glass cabins for tractors, remarked the Managing Board Klaus Wittmann further.

The District President, Dr. Schnaudigel, was delighted about the commitment of the company to the location Bretten. “Here we have the equipment and especially the know-how of the employees. We expect a satisfactory development of the order situation and we believe we are well-equipped with new projects for the future, for example Multi-Media-Glass, certified the company representatives.

May 2009 – Politics meets industry – visit at BGT Bischoff Glastechnik AG

On Monday, 18.05.2009, the Board of the Company BGT Bischoff Glastechnik AG welcomes Mr. Laurenz Mayer, MP and chairman of the Economics and Technology Working Group in the CDU / CSU Bundestag, Mr. Axel Fischer, MP, Mr. Joachim Kößler, MdL, Mayor Willi Leonhardt and some members of the council of the town to a factory tour.

After the welcome the Executive Board Klaus Wittmann and Frank Tretter made a presentation of the company and of some running projects in Germany and abroad.

With the great interest the visitors hat a tour through the production facilities where the participants were very impressed of the performance and the product range of the company BGT.
At the conclusion of the successful visit the people come together in the entrance area of the company BGT to a common photo.

May 2009 – New fully automatic seaming line LISEC KSR-33

Immediately the company BGT Bischoff Glastechnik AG works with a fully automated seaming line LISEC KSR-33 with access to the software system SOL3 of the company Soglatec GmbH.

November 2007 – Changes in the management.

After decades of successful work as CEO and Chairman, Mr. Gerd Bischoff will hand over his avtive part in the operational activities at BGT by end of this year. From January 2008, the direction of BGT will be take over by Mr. Heiko Probst (CEO), Mr. Klaus Wittmann (Chairman “Area Buildings”) and Mr. Frank Tretter (Chairman “Area Industry”).

In addition, producition manager Mr. Rainer Zoz will become procuration.

Mr. Roland Bischoff will leave his function as the chairman of the supervisory board by end of 2007. Mr. Leon Giesen, CEO of the Scheuten-Group will take over his place. Also Mr. Gerd Bischoff will be a member of the supervisory board.

June 2007 – BGT and Scheuten Glass will combine forces.

Scheuten will invest in BGT Bischoff Glastechnik AG and acquires 50% of BGT’s shares in return. By combining their expertise Scheuten and Bischoff expect to strengthen their growth potential in this area.
